teacher for 5 classes of Year 8 pupil's, aged 13-14
years Workshops based on mask making in recycled metals
Aim:
To introduce metal as a working material with an emphasis
on recycled materials. To explore the variety of textures
and surface shades using light as a tool. All construction
to be undertaken without conventional fixing procedures,
such as glue.
As
part of the workshop, students will be encouraged
to collect suitable metal items from home, as waste
product,
to be recycled into the masks.
Outcome:
To produce work based on the mask. Each group of two/three
students will have a completed mask to exhibit. Each
group will have expanded their skills base and imagination,
within the confines of working with metals.
